So, you’ve just spent the last few months planning your new kitchen, and you’ve decided on the granite worktop that you love that will really set your kitchen off and make it a talking point. But, there is also 1 other thing regarding the granite worktop that you’ve probably not even thought about yet and that is the granite worktop profile that you want applying to the edges of the granite.
Granite worktop profile edge types
When your granite is cut to size, you can also have one of the following styles applied to the edges of it. Please bear in mind that choosing a different edging on your granite worktop profile, can increase the cost slightly, as the profiling is all done by hand.
- Standard Bevel
- Single Pencil
- Double Pencil
- Half Bullnose
- Bullnose
- Birds beak
- Sharks Nose
As you can see below, the amount of work that goes into profiling a Bullnose bevel is much more than that of a standard granite worktop profile bevel, hence the additional surcharge for the service.
When you use our granite worktop calculator, step 5 of it allows you to choose one of the granite worktop profiles mentioned above. The price given on that page already includes the standard bevelling of the edges.
