A 150mm pullout is basically a 150mm wide base unit with a pullout mechanism inside it that can be used to store items in such as jars & bottles, baking trays or tea towels for ease of access.

When ordering these pullout units, you will find them listed as:

Where are the best places to use the 150mm pullout?

A 150mm pullout unit could fit in most places in your kitchen design and really is a good functional unit that can fit in some left over space if needed.

A lot of people do tend to place these units near the hob or next to an oven as the items stored in them like trays and cooking ingredients are readily accessibility and in the perfect place, so that you don’t have to go traipsing around the kitchen to find what you are looking for.

If you’re big on symmetry they you could place a 150mm pullout unit on either side of the hob/oven and make a nice little feature of it.

Are pullouts available in other sizes?

Yes, you can buy pull out units with the mechanism, in the following sizes:

  • 150mm
  • 300mm
  • 400mm
  • 500mm
  • 600mm

400mm and 600mm wire basket

The 600mm wide pullout unit can either have the mechanism attached to the door, so that it comes out as you open the door or you can have a more traditional unit where you open the unit door as normal and pull each wire basket out as required.

Do you have any pullout units for a 10mm gap?

Sadly no. We don’t have any wireworks that small to fit into such a small opening but we do make a 100mm open tray space unit (no door) to help you fill in some necessary space in your kitchen run.

Is the door of the pull out unit meant to align with the top of the unit carcass, or is there meant to be a gap?

Hi, the doors are around 3mm smaller than the unit sizes, so there is a small gap to allow doors to open properly.

How do you adjust the 150mm pull-out
Towel rail? The top of the door panel needs to move over to the right but cannot see any adjustments for this one like the normal drawer/unit doors! Thanks

Hi Joanna, the 3 150mm wide pullout units all serve different purposes. Pullout Wire Basket, Pullout Tray Space & Pullout Towel Rail.

Yes, I have ordered the pull out tray. There is an option to upgrade it when adding it to basket. What does the upgrade involve?

The option is “FITTED WITH KASTBP150C ARENA STYLE MECHANISM- UPGRADE (£10.00)” for the FDTS15 150mm Base Pull-Out Tray Space

Hi Joanna, apologies. The 150mm pullout upgrade is for the style of wirework on the actual Pull-Out Mechanism. The standard Arena Classic is more of a thick sturdy wire and the upgraded Arena Style is a Flat Chrome Bar. I have attached some images of a similar unit/mechanism to show an example.

The image has a towel rail inside the open tray unit. How do you attach that? It’s what I would prefer to having the towel inside a drawer but it seems to small a gap to screw a rail in.

    • Diy Kitchens says:

Hi Elizabeth, if fitting the towel rail onsite, this would need to be fitted within the unit before you have fitted the unit in place. I would advise you ordering the unit to be dry assembled, so you are able to take the side off the unit, to fit the towel rail.

How much weight can each wire basket take in the 500mm wide cupboard? Are they suitable for tins or only light items?

    • Diy Kitchens says:

Hi, the wire basket can hold 30kg, so you’ll be able to put tins in it etc.

Hi, I think you may be referring to the Luca white kitchen on our site. We have open wall units in this design but no wall units with glass fronts to display items, apart from the glazed letterbox door available in our 1000mm wide horizontal bi-fold wall units.
