A question that we are commonly asked is ‘what do we mean by dry assembled’?

Dry assembled means that the unit will be delivered to you, fully built with any necessary shelves and holes required to adjust them, already in place.

The only difference to a dry assembled unit is that there is no glue in the dowel holes for the gable ends of the unit. This makes it possible for your kitchen fitter to deconstruct the unit and make modifications to work around obstacles such as boilers & pillars with in the kitchen.

The internal components (base, top and fixed shelves) will have the dowels glued into them. You only need to apply glue to the sides/gables, once amendments have been made.

If we supply replacements for just the base, top or fixed shelves for dry assembled units, the parts will be sent with dowels pre-glued into them, so you just needs to glue them into the sides/gables of the unit.

Identifying dry assembled units upon delivery

Dry assembled units are easily identified within your delivery, as they are wrapped in dry assembled tape. With regards to dry assembled units, we can supply a maximum of 3 dry assembled units per order.

How to request a dry assembled unit

To request that a unit be delivered dry assembled, add a note to the unit inside your website shopping cart.

If using our online kitchen planner, click on the unit and select the ‘Dry Assembly” option from the left.

You may also wish to request that some of our bulkier units, such as an l-shaped corner base unit be delivered dry assembled, so that the unit can be taken apart, and brought into your property, if there are no openings big enough to get the unit into your home in 1 piece.

This information appears to be out of date (12 March 2026). Units are not wrapped in dry assembled tape. A note will appear on the unit label. The chaps who delivered my units were unaware of this, insisting not dry assembled units were in my order. I nearly turned the delivery away as a result, instead we struggle and got the units in the house. Not good, as pre-assembly is one of the firm’s USPs.

      Hi Richard,

Apologies for any issues regarding the delivery of your dry assembled units. The process of using ‘Dry Assembled’ tape is still in operation but should that tape be unavailable then ‘Fragile’ tape can be used as a substitute.

We are not quite sure why no tape was on your units, but I will pass this information back onto the dispatch team, as no dry assembled processes or procedures have changed. With regards to the drivers, we do have a few new drivers that have just joined the company that may not have seen a packaged dry assembled unit yet, but I have passed this feedback on to the delivery team as well, to ensure all drivers are made aware. Apologies once again.

    Hi,
My order needs 6 dry assembled units but it states there can only be 3 per order?
What are the options in this case?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Hi David, could please contact the sales directly, so that they can take a look at how big the actual order is and when it will be ordered for? They may be able to speak with order processing and get them to allow the x6 units to be supplied dry assembled, however they need to see the size of the order first to ensure that it is viable to produce 6 dry assembled units, as they follow a different process, require more manual processing and there is only a certain capacity for dry assembled units per week. Thank you.

Hi, do dry assembled units need to be glued or are they fully functional ?
