A question that we were recently asked was “Do your glazed fronted wall units come as standard with glass shelves in them or do I have to pay extra for these shelves? If I have to pay extra, will you still send me the wooden ones since I technically, would be paying for them? I can use them as spares”.
Well, the glazed units as well as all the other units that we supply come with wooden shelves as standard. If you require glass shelves for any of your kitchen units then these need to be ordered separately.
Please note that all the glazed doors in our units have transparent perspex and not glass.
Fitting the glass shelves
Some people are unsure if the glass shelves will fit straight into the units because of the shelf supports etc. Well, the glass shelves are made to fit exactly inside our kitchen units.
For example, for a 500mm wall unit, the shelves you would need are the GS500 ones, which come in a pack of two. These are 454mm wide and 250mm deep and are supplied with the shelf brackets, so you will not need to order these separately. The shelves are made from 6mm toughened glass and all 4 edges and ground and polished for a smooth finish.
The shelves can be moved around in the wall unit by placing the shelf supports in the holes inside the unit, which are about 65mm apart.
The code for the glass shelves is GS then the width. Examples are shown below.
- GS400 for an 400mm wide wall unit (Actual shelf size = 354x250x6mm)
- GS500 for a 500mm wide wall unit (Actual shelf size = 454x250x6mm)
- GS600 for a 600mm wide wall unit (Actual shelf size = 554x250x6mm)
- GS800 for an 800mm wide wall unit (Actual shelf size = 754x250x6mm)
- GS900 for an 900mm wide wall unit (Actual shelf size = 854x250x6mm)
- GS1000 for a 1000mm wide wall unit (Actual shelf size = 954x250x6mm)
All our glass shelves can be bought from our main website here

Would it be possible to have a single wall cabinet 1000mm wide x 900mm high with glass doors that open from both of the outside sides and 954mm glass shelves? This would require the hinges to be on a post in the centre of the cabinet? I require this to fit onto a wall above the end of a 1100mm wide peninsular unit and access is required from either side of the peninsular. I really want to avoid using 2 x 500mm cabinets if this is possible.
Hi George, sorry but this is not possible with the units that we supply.
how do I recover a unfinished basket without a code
Hi Roger, if you saved your cart with an email address then the aftersales team should be able to find it for you. You can contact them on 01977 608 418.
I can’t find the glass shelves to order on your website, the link provided above goes to a page of shelving systems but only shelf supports etc are shown, no actual glass shelves?
Hi Jenni, apologies, the page was updated over the weekend and they seem to have vanished but they are back now:-) The shelves are all prefixed with GS
Hi, do you sell the lighting strips that fit along the front of the glass shelf in picture 1, and if so, how are they fitted?
Hi, unfortunately we do not supply any shelf lights like the one in the picture. The light is actually positioned at the back of the shelf and the light shines through from there.
