If you are looking at installing a warming drawer into your new kitchen, to allow you to keep food warm until needed, then some of our tall appliance housings come with the space already, for you to fit one into.

Warming drawer sizes
Before thinking about the unit needed for the warming drawer, you first need to decide on which one you are going to buy.
This is because they come in 2 different sizes:
- 140mm high
- 290mm high
Which oven fits with a warming drawer?
Now that you have thought about sizes, you can now think about which oven you are going to have in the unit, as this will help you narrow down which housing to go for.
The choices are:
- Compact oven 455mm high
- Single oven 595mm high
- Double oven 880mm high
Which tall appliance housing do I need?
Now that you have thought about warming drawer & oven sizes, you can now think about which unit is needed for your appliance configuration. Some examples of the units that we supply are below with scenarios.
The units below are our standard 1970mm high units (2120mm with legs).
Scenario #1 – Single oven with 140mm high warming drawer
The unit (SOH14WDP2) allows for a single oven 595mm high, as well as a 140mm warming drawer. Here is a breakdown of the measurements.
1970mm high tall unit:
- 450mm high top door
- 595mm high oven
- 140mm high warming drawer
- 355mm high pan drawer frontal
- 355mm high pan drawer frontal
This leaves around a 75mm gap that can be filled by using the supplied 115mm drawer front, which is cut down and used as a filler. If you wanted this unit without pan drawers then the product code to search for on our website is (SOH14WD)
Please note: We do not have a unit that can accommodate a 290mm high warming drawer and a single oven but you could fit this into a double oven housing unit (DOH), if required.
Scenario #2 – Double oven with 140mm high warming drawer
The unit (DOH14WD) allows for a double oven 880mm high, as well as a 140mm high warming drawer. Here is a breakdown of the measurements.
1970mm high tall unit:
- 283mm high top door
- 880mm high oven
- 140mm high warming drawer
- 570mm high bottom door
This leaves around a 97mm gap that can be filled by using the supplied 115mm drawer front, which is cut down and used as a filler.
If you wanted this unit with pan drawers then the product code to search for on our website is (DOH14WDP2)
Scenario #3 – Double oven with 290mm high warming drawer
The unit (DOH29WDP1) allows for a double oven 880mm high, as well as a 290mm high warming drawer. Here is a breakdown of the measurements.
1970mm high tall unit:
- 450mm high top door
- 880mm high oven
- 290mm high warming drawer
- 283mm high pan drawer frontal
This leaves around a 67mm gap that can be filled by using the supplied 115mm drawer front, which is cut down and used as a filler.
Please note that double ovens usually range in height from 880mm up to around 890mm. This is fine and the oven will fit into the appliance housing. The only thing you need to do is cut a smaller filler to cover the smaller gap.
If you see a double oven around 715mm high then this is an oven that goes under your worktop, not in a tall appliance housing!
Scenario #4 – Compact oven with 140mm high warming drawer
The unit (SOH) allows for a 1 single oven 595mm high, or a compact oven 455mm high as well as a 140mm high warming drawer. Here is a breakdown of the measurements.
1970mm high tall unit:
- 570mm high top door
- 455mm high compact oven
- 140mm high warming drawer
- 715mm high bottom door
This leaves around a 90mm gap that can be filled by using the supplied 115mm drawer front, which is cut down and used as a filler.
Does the oven sit on the warming drawer?
Yes. Most warming drawers are purpose built to be stacked with joining strips added, so the appliances are seamlessly positioned above them. Some warming drawers though, do require an additional appliance shelf, to support the weight of the appliance above it.

Always refer to the manufacturer’s documentation for the appliance, as an appliance shelf may be required, which can be ordered from ourselves.

Does installing a 140mm warming drawer beneath a double oven raise the height of the double oven? My wife is 5ft3 so we are concerned that installing a warming drawer would make the top oven of the double oven too high
January 6, 2026 at 9:56 amHi Rory, yes, if the appliance housing you have chosen is a tall oven housing designed to accommodate both a warming drawer and a single oven, the warming drawer is installed below the oven, which raises the oven’s installed height.
Unfortunately, we do not offer bespoke units. The only way to slightly reduce the height of the Single Oven would be to reduce the overall height by requesting the 100mm carcase legs instead of the standard 150mm carcase legs. Both options are adjustable by -10mm / +20mm, meaning the height could be reduced by a further 10mm if required.
January 7, 2026 at 9:26 amI would like to put 2 full size ovens and a warming draw in a tall unit would this be possible.
November 22, 2025 at 4:17 pmHi Clive, our tall appliance units will not tale 2 single owns and a warming drawer. You would need to use a double oven. Example unit shown here.
November 24, 2025 at 7:21 amIs it possible to put a warming drawer below an oven that sits under the worktop?
April 16, 2025 at 1:56 pmHi Catherine, we only have x2 undercounter Single Oven Housings, unfortunately it wouldn’t work in either of them. One comes with a H115mm standard working drawer to the bottom of it and the other comes with a H115mm filler panel to the bottom of it. Even if you were to use the BUO6, which comes with the filler panel and you look to remove the filler panel, that then only gives you an extra H115mm, The smallest warming drawer is H140mm, so this wouldn’t work unfortunately.
April 17, 2025 at 12:17 pmMost 14cm warming drawers appear to need a shelf above them when a double oven is stacked above them. Do your double oven unit DOH14WD have a shelf supplied to fit between oven and warming drawer? Thanks.
July 16, 2024 at 9:45 pmHi Jonathan, ovens can sit directly on top of a warming drawers but you can order an additional shelf if needed, the code for this is BS6.
July 18, 2024 at 7:15 amWould it be possible to install a warming drawer in a base unit?
February 19, 2024 at 3:39 pmHi Melissa, it is possible to install a warming drawer in a base unit, however, you would need to remove the door and bottom hinge. Then order a smaller height loose door to cover the gap. If you still require a door on the unit.
February 20, 2024 at 8:13 amAm I able to have a microwave, double oven and warming drawer all in the same unit? i assumed I could just removed the lowest door and use a filler piece
June 29, 2023 at 4:17 pmHi Angela, we don’t have a unit for this but yes – you could remove the bottom drawer (283mm) and add a fixed shelf to support the warming drawer. You could then order a 139mm drawer box and front to use as a small cutlery/utensil/tray drawer.
