As part of our Dish It Yourself series with Ground Up Cookery School, here’s a comfort-food classic that gets a seriously tasty upgrade. Think creamy béchamel, smoky lardons and a cheesy trio that bubbles to golden perfection.
Perfect as a side, a main, or an “I deserve this” midweek treat.
Ingredients
- 1 head broccoli
- 1 cauliflower
- Béchamel sauce
- 200g smoked lardons
- 25g breadcrumbs
- 150g grated mozzarella
- 125g ricotta
Instructions
- Trim the cauliflower
- Chop into florets
- Chop the leaves
- Chop broccoli trim off the florets
- Chop the stalk
- Bacon Lardons into a pan on medium heat until browning and caramelising
- Boil Broccoli & Cauliflower for 2 minutes
- Add ricotta to your béchamel
- Drain cauliflower & broc
- Add breadcrumbs & stir til browned
- Cauliflower & broccoli into a baking tray
- Cover with béchamel sauce
- Top with layers of bacon mix & mozzarella cheese
- 200 degree C oven
- Bake for 20 mins
