Mantle

A popular question that people ask us is, “how do I create a mantle with your kitchen units?”. Well, the answer is simple, read on to find out more!

How do I create the mantle?

The good news is that you do not need to create or design anything, as our mantles are supplied as a 1-piece unit! All you need to do, is simply add it to your shopping cart, in the same way as the other units.

Mantle examples

If you are looking for a little inspiration and some ideas on how your mantle could look, then look no further! Here are some examples that our customers have installed in their own kitchens.

How big is your kitchen mantle?

The standard external size of our kitchen mantle measures 1800mm wide x 400mm deep x 1210mm high.

The internal measurements of the mantle are 1200mm wide x 900mm tall (900mm tall in both 1210mm & 1390mm high mantles).

The 2 different heights of mantle that we can provide are below, with details where they should be used.

If you require the mantle a little wider, then the sales team can amend the width of the mantle in 100mm increments but this would incur a surcharge of £100 per 100mm change. The maximum width the mantle can be manufactured to, is 2400mm wide.

The size of the 2 units either side of the mantle are 300mm wide and they are both working cupboards.

How is a mantle secured to the wall?

You would need to use L brackets to fix the mantle to the wall, at the top of the unit.

Does a mantle have a service void at the back?

The mantle units have the standard 17mm void at the back, the same as a wall unit and reduced depth unit.

Which extractor would I use inside the mantle?

You would need to use a Canopy hood extractor with the mantle. The underside of a mantle is hollow, to allow you to install a canopy extractor.
