Winner announced!
Thank you to everyone for entering the DIY Kitchens ‘Design A Kitchen’ competition. We received hundreds of entries and the standard was extremely high.
Following very careful consideration from the DIY Team and our guest judge Dominic Wood (one half of TV’s Dick and Dom), I am delighted to announce that Eden’s Dream Animal Kitchen design has been selected as the winner!
Our judge commented that he loved the theme and that all the animals have a really strong purpose – he also thinks the Monkey Banana holder should be in the shops, so well done for being so creative!
Eden has now been contacted and will receive Smyth’s Toy vouchers to the value of £1,000 and also £5,000 towards equipment for her school, which I’m sure will make her extremely popular with the teachers!

- Entrants to design their own kitchen based on a theme or gadgets or anything you want.
- The competition will run from 10th July and the closing date for all entries will be 31st August 2023, 12.00 noon. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be accepted.
- The winner will be drawn on the 8th September 2023.
- The competition is open to all UK mainland residents. aged 12 years and under. Entries must be made on their behalf, by someone over 18 years of age.
- 1 entry per child, but there can be multiple entries per household.
- The individual prize is a £1,000 Smyths’ Toy voucher.
- The school prize is £5,000 to spend on equipment of their choice
- The entries will be looked at by a panel of judges and the winner will be decided by our guest judge, Dominic Wood.
- The winning kitchen design will also be brought to life using our 3D team!
- Announcements will be made on our blog and across our social pages name you as the winner (first name and county location). You agree that if you are a winner, you will take part in and co-operate fully with reasonable publicity and to the use of your name, photograph, and any comments freely in any such publicity.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
- The competition will run on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter
- Only one entry will be accepted per child. Multiple entries from the same parent/guardian will be allowed, if they are for different entrants.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
- The prize is as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- The winner will be notified by email and/or DM on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram and/or letter within 48 hours of the closing date. The winner will only ever be contacted by the DIY Kitchens Social Media Executive. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
- The promoter will notify the winner when the prize will be sent and issue a Royal Mail tracking ID.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
- The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner, or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
