What does an angled base unit look like?

Angled Base Unit

A question that we were recently asked was “I’ve heard of angled base units but I’m not sure what they look like, as I cannot work it out from your website.”

Well, an angled base unit is a great unit to use if the entrance into your kitchen area is a little limited. The angle of the base unit goes back to the wall, creating a bigger opening to the kitchen, ideal for a small U shaped kitchen.

Because of the angled unit and the dimensions of the unit being different to standard base units, there is less storage space inside of them. But, what you lose in space on the inside, you gain on the outside and it makes for a nice feature too. The dimensions of this angled base unit can be seen below.

Securing the angled base unit

The depth of this angled base unit is 543mm on the long side and 279mm on the short side. The depth of a normal unit is 560mm, so this unit will not butt up to the front of the units, like all the rest.

To secure this unit, you just need to use the male and female connector bolts (supplied in your fittings box) to attach the angled unit, to the unit you have to the side of this, which will ensure the unit is secured.

These units still have a service void but it is a 17mm service void because of the slightly reduced depth.

Angled base unit options

When it comes to angled base units, you only have the option of a 300mm wide version; this can be either for a left hand side kitchen run or right. Either way the door is always hinged on the short end, so the door will always open away from the kitchen.

If you have drawers in your kitchen and you want to keep the drawerline look throughout your kitchen then there is a also a drawerline version of the angled base unit available.

You can see the angled base units on our main site here.
