A fly over, is an end panel that usually bridges the gap above an extractor and between wall units or over a window/feature wall. Why use a fly over shelf?
A fly over shelf helps to integrate extractor hoods even better by carrying on the colour and style of the kitchen over it. Once the fly over shelf is in position, you can then run your cornice over the top of it, to create a seamless continuation of your wall units. To add an extra wow factor, if you have the space in the shelf then you can even add some lighting!
Can I use a normal end panel?
Yes. If you have some left-over end panel material and you have the good edge exposed and it is long enough then there is nothing stopping you, using it. You just need to ensure that it is long enough to fill the gap that you are covering. Our fly over shelfs are 2.4m long, if you need something a little longer.
